What Is Show & Tell?

Show & Tell is Carlisle Matters’ flagship community event; a free, family-friendly day out held each year in beautiful Bitts Park, Carlisle. Designed to bring together people of all ages, it’s a vibrant celebration of creativity, connection, and community spirit. From live music and performances to arts, crafts, funfair attractions and interactive stalls, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Local groups, charities, services and businesses showcase what they offer, giving visitors the chance to explore, learn and get involved in the life of the city. In 2025, thousands turned out throughout the day, making memories, discovering new activities and celebrating the heart of our community.

But Show & Tell is more than just a fun day, it’s about connection and inclusion. Organisations from across Carlisle come together to share information, support and inspiration, helping people engage with local services they might not otherwise encounter. Whether it’s health and wellbeing advice, creative workshops, youth-focused activities, or simply a chance to enjoy sunshine and music in the park, Show & Tell is a celebration of everything that makes our city strong and welcoming.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Carlisle Show & Tell returns in 2026, bringing our communities together for a free, family-friendly celebration in the heart of the city. Taking place on Sunday 17th May 2026, from 12–4pm at Bitts Park, the event will feature free fun and information, live music, community activities, and food and drink available to buy. Organised by Carlisle Matters, Show & Tell is all about connecting people with local organisations, support services, and each other — celebrating the energy, creativity, and community spirit that makes Carlisle special.

If you’re a local organisation, community group, or business and are interested in becoming a stall holder or exhibitor, or would like to support the event as a sponsor, we’d love to hear from you. Show & Tell also offers a range of marketing and promotional opportunities for businesses looking to engage with local audiences and demonstrate their support for the Carlisle community.
